It is aptly awarded its title because of its resemblance to the pellets used for gunpowder ammunitions during the 17th century. Originally rolled tightly to preserve freshness and maintain moisture during long voyages overseas, it still holds true as an unsurpassable fresh tea that is full of dark bold color and a striking taste. Gunpowder tea is astringent and mildly bitter, and you can add a very small pinch of Stevia or Spearmint to soften the taste.

A profoundly green aroma with a deep, well-rounded tannic flavor.
Brew Instructions
Fill 1 teaspoon of tea in a cloth tea bag or mesh basket and place in your favorite mug. Pour 8 ounces of boiling water over the tea and allow to steep for 3-5 minutes or until desired strength is reached.

We provide local delivery to Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens, weekdays: Monday through Friday. For same day delivery, orders must be placed before 1:30pm.
For example: orders placed between 1:30pm on Friday and 1:29pm on Monday will be delivered on Monday. Orders placed between 1:30pm on Monday and 1:29pm on Tuesday will be delivered on Tuesday.

Return Empty Containers
If the product came in a returnable container, such as a glass jar or a cloth bag, please return it by placing empty containers in the original delivery tote and we'll pick them up at your next delivery. We will wash and sanitize them for future reuse.
